Scripture makes very clear in Ephesians 2:8-9 and elsewhere that salvation is a gift, a work of God’s grace, that we receive through faith and not by good works on our part. Yet it also teaches without question that genuine saving faith will be evidenced by good deeds and to grow in spiritual maturity is to be normative of the person who has trusted in Christ as Savior. The book of James challenges us to examine ourselves, to recognize these truths, and to apply them in our lives. James teaches us that saving faith works. Please join us as we learn these important and practical lessons in the book of James.
