By God’s grace and mercy, we are excited to deliver the news that Our LORD has called CBC’s next Sr Pastor and Elder, Pastor John Richard!!

CBC embarked on a journey of searching for a new senior pastor, after our beloved brother, friend, pastor and shepherd, Val Chappell, was called home after 18 years of faithful ministry at CBC.

At the outset of this search, we prayed that the LORD would provide CBC a pastor who was in the same mold as each of the two men who held this position before. We prayed for a godly man who loves His Word, is committed to stewarding and safeguarding the Gospel, shepherding His people, and reaching the lost with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We also prayed the LORD would make clear to the elders who He was calling and that the elders would have unity with this decision. Our faithful God has, done what He always does, He has faithfully answered the prayers of His people.

A little about Pastor John Richard:

Pastor John Richard grew up in the Philadelphia area and is consequently a passionate fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. He had the privilege of going to Cedarville University where he got his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in Chemistry. His aim was to go to medical school, but after graduating college, the Lord changed his heart, giving him a huge passion for ministry. So, he headed out to California and attended the Master’s Seminary where he graduated in 2001.

During that time he met his precious wife, Jamie and they were married in 2000. The Lord has gifted them with 9 children (5 girls and 4 boys). The Lord has blessed John with the privilege of serving in youth ministry for 18 years and as a senior pastor for 7 ½ years.
